Help Send Santa to Baghdad

Wheelz 104.5, Z93 and WHNN want to Help Send Santa to Baghdad!  We are asking for your help to send care packages to Mid Michigan soldiers in the Middle East!

What's cool is that these items can be sent to specific MID MICHIGAN SOLDIERS who are currently deployed in a combat zone.  You can either donate items or submit a Mid Michigan soldier who you want to receive a care package.

HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP

Donate gift items

Think of personal items you would like to send to a son or daughter.

Powdered drink mixes, nonperishable candies, cookies, nuts, cakes,

crackers, as well as telephone cards, AAA and AA batteries, sunblock,

DVDs, CDs, puzzles, games – almost anything you’d like a loved

one to have while serving in a place that doesn’t have much of anything

from home. But remember, we can’t send any gels, creams or liquids with

alcohol in it. And we’re all set on tooth paste, toothbrushes and

popcorn, thank you.

Volunteer to help

We can use a hand collecting items and packaging. We will be collecting

items throughout the region from Monday, Nov. 3 to Friday, Nov. 21. Give

us a hand if you can. We’re going to put everything in boxes and then

send them off to the Middle East on Monday, Nov. 24, starting at 9 a.m.

in the armory on Wilder Road. If you can help, we’d appreciate it. We

will accept last-minute donations on Monday, but drop them off early. To

volunteer, e-mail Melissa Alex at emazaalex@yahoo.com

Send us names and military addresses

Let us know about your loved ones serving in the Middle East. E-mail

names and verified addressees to Linda Ryan at lmr71@sbcglobal.net

 .
